Week One!

School is here!!! We are moved into the band room, and we had our first mini-performance last Friday. A few things to keep in mind for this week and for our first football game. Although school dismisses at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow, we still have rehearsal from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. There is no lunch tomorrow at school, plan accordingly. We have normal rehearsal on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Finally, I will need at least 5 parent volunteers for this Friday. Two for meals, one for the snowblower raffle, and two for the actual game. I will be posting a google doc sign-up soon, but please contact me if you can help for the first game! I will post a game day schedule later this week. Lastly, students will wear the summer uniform for the first game. Details will be given in class.

Pictures and More

Band camp was an amazing success!!! We almost have two entire shows on the field and we have the music almost ready for all four shows! We have a few dates to be aware of for this upcoming week

Pictures: We have band pictures Monday, August 15th. Call is 11:00 a.m. in the PAC, wear khaki shorts and short black socks. I will have the polos for you that day. We will take pictures at 12:15 p.m., followed by practice from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The order forms came in during band camp, so if you would like to order anything, send a check.

Practice: We will have rehearsal Thursday, August 18th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Meet in the new band room!!!

Pep-Rally: We play at the freshmen and transfer student orientation pep-rally. Call is 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 19th. I will give more detail at rehearsal this week. No practice following the rally. Meet in the band room.

Band Camp

It’s that time! Pre-Camp starts this Monday. Information is below and email me if you have any other questions!

Pre-Camp: Monday, August 1st – Friday, August 5th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. BRING WATER AND YOUR INSTRUMENT (meet in the PAC) We will also be moving the band room this week each day after camp from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. if you want service hours!

Booster Meeting: Wednesday, August 3rd at 7 p.m. in the PAC

Band Camp: Sunday, August 7th – Friday, August 12th. We will meet in the PAC on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and return Friday around 11:00 am

Pictures: Monday, August 15th at 12:15 p.m. There will be more information to follow. It’s going to be a great year!!!

End of the Year

We made it!!! It was an amazing year with many new and exciting things. 14 new members, the Cherry Street Beat, playing in the Horseshoe (again), OMEA successes, Jazz band, Chicago, and new uniforms. Next year looks to be even better and bigger!

But, we still have two weeks!

This Wednesday will be the final Booster meeting at 7 pm in the PAC. We will discuss fall events and marching band at this meeting. We have graduation on Sunday, May 22nd. Call is 4:30 pm in the PAC, concert black. Finally, we have the Memorial Day parade on Saturday, May 28th.

Lastly, the dates for band camp. More information will be mailed and posted over the summer.
