End of the Year

We made it!!! It was an amazing year with many new and exciting things. 14 new members, the Cherry Street Beat, playing in the Horseshoe (again), OMEA successes, Jazz band, Chicago, and new uniforms. Next year looks to be even better and bigger!

But, we still have two weeks!

This Wednesday will be the final Booster meeting at 7 pm in the PAC. We will discuss fall events and marching band at this meeting. We have graduation on Sunday, May 22nd. Call is 4:30 pm in the PAC, concert black. Finally, we have the Memorial Day parade on Saturday, May 28th.

Lastly, the dates for band camp. More information will be mailed and posted over the summer.

Monday, August 1st – Friday, August 5th: Pre-Band Camp, 9am – 1 pm at CCHS

Sunday August 7th – Friday, August 12th: Band Camp @ Camp Pioneer

Banquet and Meeting

The Band Banquet is next Tuesday, May 10th at 7 pm at St. Patrick’s of Heatherdowns Holy Family Center. A catered meal is provided and we will have our end of the year slide show and awards.

The student’s meal is covered, however all adults will be $10 and kids $5. Please have money and your expected number of guests to Mr. O’Brien by this Friday.

The final booster meeting will be on Wednesday, May 18th at 7 pm in the PAC. We will elect officers here and discuss the summer and upcoming fall plans.


Due to the generosity of Dorothy MacKenzie Price, the CCHS band and orchestra were able to play side-by-side with the Toledo Symphony today. It was a fantastic concert and the culmination of a year long partnership. We look forward to continuing it for next year.

We are almost there! The band leaves Friday morning for Chicago! I wanted to post a few details, and the rules and schedule will be given out in class and/or the Booster meeting Wednesday (4/6) at 7 p.m. in the PAC.

*Reminder: This trip is for us and our performance. Family and friends are welcome to see you at the actual performance, but do not make other plans to meet up with them over the duration of the trip.

We will be meeting in the PAC at 7 a.m. Friday morning (4/8). We plan to depart around 7:30 a.m. Pack enough clothes for 3 days and 2 nights, as well as concert attire.


  • $40 cash recommended min. (for Sat. and Sun. Lunch)
  • Packed lunch for Friday bus (snacks if desired)
  • Concert Black w/ dress shoes
  • Day bag for Saturday w/ change of casual clothes
  • Good walking shoes (we will doing lots of that!)
  • Appropriate clothing (check weather) Represent CCHS!
  • Swimsuit (may not be much time for this, but just in case)
  • Toiletries and medications
  • Games, movies, cards, etc.
